(I just) Died in your arms

Una band di un unico successo i Cutting Crew, ma che successo! "(I just) Died in your arms" è una delle canzoni più ascoltate degli Anni '80. Inserita nell'album "Broadcast", uscì nell'estate 1986 e l'anno successivo raggiunse il primo posto nelle classifiche americane e il quarto in quelle britanniche.

La band era stata fondata nel 1985 dal vocalist inglese Nick Van Eede, che reclutò il chitarrista canadese Kevin MacMichael. L'anno successivo entrarono il bassista Colin farley e il Batterista Martin Beadle. Il nome veniva da un articolo della rivista musicale "Sound" che definiva i Queen una "cutting crew". La canzone nacque, secondo la testimonianza di Van Eede dopo una notte d'amore con la fidanzata: al mattino si mise alla tastiera e la compose.

Il brano detiene anche un record: fu il primo numero 1 in America per la neonata casa discografica di Richard Branson, la Virgin.
